Mogulcon London 2016 Review Day 2

This post will cover Mogulcon Day 2 as it happened. At the beginning, the opening sessions talked about innovation and how to find the opportunities to grow, then the next sessions were about crowdfunding and the last talks were about expanding your idea internationally, building the right team and disrupting industries like healthcare and biological intelligence.

Martin Verbree DIRECTOR OF EUROPE at LOCALZ talking about:

BREAKING THE PERMAFROST – HOW STARTUPS CAN SELL TO ENTERPRISE

Large enterprise companies have worked out that rather than compete with more nimble, disruptive start up companies they should partner with or purchase services from them. Start ups also see that corporates can bring them much desired distribution scale and revenue. And yet there are very few success stories and many, many cases of failure. The presentation shared some of the tactics for both enterprise and start ups to succeed.

Next on stage was Sjors Bos MD at I HEART STUDIOS, presenting CREATIVE DISRUPTION

In the fast moving world of fashion/lifestyle there is constant demand for innovation. The digital photography industry was slow moving, not focused on the industry demand and working with operating models pre-existent to the digital age.The presentation talked about a company born in the digital age, focusing on the continuous need for re-invention and who is supplying digital excellence (service/added value/content generation) within a highly demanding industry. The presentation will focus on the challenges of a start-up with a fresh mind-set and ethos, focused on customer value, operating in a traditional industry.

SEEDRS

After coffee break more presentation regarding funding investors and investor angels with Tom Horbye from Seedrs speaking first on stage about EQUITY CROWDFUNDING – AN AVENUE FOR GROWTH.

Tom presented the the different types of crowdfunding and if your business is ready for equity crowdfunding and the reasons why should your business consider raising finance through equity crowdfunding.

Next on stage was Jordan Fantaay Founder & CEO at Fantoo. His presentation was about BECOMING DELL’S 1ST GLOBAL STARTUP IN RESIDENCE

Next on stage a panel session will take a look at the challenges of expanding internationally and the lessons learnt from our panelists.

Next on stage Itay Erel CO-FOUNDER at ZEEK. He talked about the zeek journey and How they built a company with zero experience but a big problem to solve.
